LIFE-SAVER Informer Alarm
Measures temperature in °F and relative humidity in %RH. Reacts to the sum of the two which is the Thermal Stress Index of poultry and livestock. A high Thermal Stress Index can eventually lead to "suffocation". The LIFE-SAVER provides the most accurate sensing of critical conditions ever possible, even before it's "too late"!!
Simple to use. One knob setting does it all. Choose from maximum awareness to late awareness. Setting need not be changed with age of the poultry and livestock, only the seasons of the year.
The LIFE-SAVER Informer can be located in a convenient area for management. The sensor is in the environment with the poultry or livestock.
The display shows the Thermal Stress Index (RH + T). Five selection switches allow you to display set-point, %RH, °F, charger voltage, and battery condition.
Multipurpose! The LIFE-SAVER drops curtains, doors, or inlets. It can sound a siren or back-up ventilation.
A 12 Volt battery with charger allows the LIFE-SAVER to operate for hours in the absence of AC power.
Digital Communicator is available.
For years the meat production industry has monitored power outages and high temperature. Certainly this has saved losses due to stress and suffocation. But how many times has the-profit robbing Thermal Stress Index been high with electric power on, and the temperature is below 90 degrees Fahrenheit? Many!
Fans unplugged, shutters frozen closed, breakers turned off, ventilation controls not set correctly, and too much fogging, can cause high Thermal Stress Index, reducing profits. The LIFE-SAVER monitors the effects of these problems and power outages to alert the manager that the animals are being stressed and that mortality can occur.
