CURTAIN-MINDERS????         CM 2000 vs. CM 5010

CM 2000:

1.     The CM 2000 has a time delay up to 60-seconds.  The time delay capacitor is two and one-half times larger than the one we used for 24 years.

2.     This is the most dependable and reliable emergency curtain release device available.  If any component fails in the CM 2000, the winch(s) release.

3.     Equipped with WK 2500 winch kits (shown above), the Curtain-Minder will operate on tunnel houses in tunnel mode.  In tunnel mode, when any one winch kit releases, all winches release instantly.  This provides extra safety, plus the curtains come down more reliably since the static pressure is released.  This reduces hot spots in the building.

4.     This Curtain-Minder requires only one and one-half minutes to test.  Testing is very important even with this Curtain-Minder, which is the most failsafe curtain drop available.  The test determines if the curtains will fall when the winch is released.  Pro-Tech recommends testing at least once every month.

5.     Converting an existing CM 2000 to tunnel requires no change in the wiring unless an alarm is connected.  The cost of converting with four WK 2500’s is $250.00.

6.     The price to trade other brands of drops for the newest CM 2000 with one standard winch kit and one transformer is $150.00.

7.     To trade any Curtain-Minder for the CM 5000 unit only, the price is only $140.00.

8.     The price of a CM 2000 is $215.00 without a trade.  Three more WK 1500’s are $93.00

CM 5010:

1.       The time delay is adjustable from 0 to 10 minutes.  Testing this Curtain-Minder takes about one minute.  To test, we recommend the timer knob be set near zero.  Turn the main breaker off.  This will stop the fans, stop the negative pressure inside the house, and release the winches more reliably.  The curtains will fall better without the fans operating.  The breaker can be turned back on in 12 seconds.  Winch the curtains closed and the test is complete.

2.       This Curtain-Minder has a relay to activate an alarm or it can be an alarm by itself.  It has it’s own 12-volt battery.  It can turn on a dialer and/or a siren for a power outage or for the release of the curtain winches.  Temperature sensing can activate the alarm output.  With these alarm functions in use, this Curtain-Minder provides the most protection of any.  

3.       The CM 5010 is two Curtain-Minders in one.  It can serve as a conventional curtain drop or it can be wired for tunnel operations.  In tunnel when one curtain winch is released, all of them release instantly. 

4.       To trade a CM 2000 Curtain-Minder for a CM 5000 using the same transformer and winch kits, the price is $140.00.

5.       To trade any brand of curtain drop for a CM 5010 with one winch kit and the transformer, the price is $210.00.

6.       The price of a new CM 5010 is $315.00 without a trade.  Three additional WK 1510’s are $135.00.
