Control lights with knobs and a light sensor
The 884-AL (Auto-Light) controls any kind of electrical
lighting using a photocell. The
photocell mounts in the light controlled area.
The 884-AL control can be in an entrance room.
There must be electric lights and another source of light available, such
as daylight. There are two knobs on
the control unit. The top knob
controls the light level at which the lights turn on.
The lower knob controls the light level at which the lights turn off.
When external light enters the room and the light level reaches the turn
off set point, the electric lights will turn off.
When the light from external sources diminishes to the turn on point, the
electric lights turn on.
There is a trick to be aware of.
When the lights are on, the amount of electric light plus the amount of
external light added together must be less than the turn off point, unless you
want to make the place look like a disco joint.
The knobs are calibrated in foot-candles (fc) and the photocell is at the end of fifty feet of wire.
